Tournament Information
The Gabriola Golf and Country Club invites you to send your entry form for The 21st Annual Gabriola Men's Amateur.
This years tournament will be held on
Saturday July 18 and Sunday July 19 2009.
The field will be limited to 88 entrants, (minimum age - 19) accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The tournament will be run under RCGA rules for stroke play, and the maximum handicap index will be 27.9. Under the slope system, this is the equivalent of a 28 handicap at Gabriola.
Please note that we will require verification of your handicap index upon registration.
The tournament will have two tee offs so that everyone can start on the 1st hole. Preference for the afternoon tee-off times will be given to entrants who must travel to Gabriola. Your Saturday score will determine your tee off time on Sunday, beginning with the highest scorers. Play well on Saturday, you can sleep later on Sunday!
The entry fee is $140.00, same as last year, and includes:
- Friday's practice round and evening buffet;
- lunch on Saturday and Sunday;
- and dinner Sunday evening at the awards banquet.
Saturday night's theme will be FUN on the DECK.
Putting and chipping contests, with a long drive contest.
New for this year, is entertainment, supplied by Marilyn Smith and her Country Boys Blues Band.
The barbeque will be going and the music aflowing.
We expect a full house. Extra tickets for Fridays buffet ($10.00 each) Saturday's, FUN on the DECK ($15.00 each) includes a burger, a beer, and the entertainment. Sunday's dinner ($15.00 each). All additional ticket requirements should be booked in advance.
A complimentary continental breakfast will be available on Saturday and Sunday.
There are more than $5000.00 in prizes. Hole-in-one prizes on designated par three holes. All prizes will be awarded after the completion of play on Sunday.
Send in your completed entry form early to ensure your place in the tournament.
Cheques should be made out to the "Gabriola Golf Club" and no posted dated cheques will be accepted.
Letter of confirmation will be sent to entrants, via e mail where possible.
